MIXED MEDIA TUTORIAL:

 

Artisans: Jeweler (stage nine & final)

 

In this final stage I worked further in colored pencils, adding depth to the shading. I also felt the background could use more warmth of color, so I went over it with a pencil in Spanish orange. Once done, I added the highlights with diluted fluid acrylic.

 

The final step was the linework. I wanted bold black lines for this particular drawing, so I used a black Copic multiliner in 0.5mm. However, oftentimes the mood and style of a piece suggests subtler lines, in which case the outlining can be done with either a sepia ink pen or a sharpened brown/black colored pencil.
