MIXED MEDIA TUTORIAL:
Artisans: Jeweler (stage eight)
Time to add highlights. I’ve used both gouache and acrylic for this purpose, and find that liquid acrylic works better if you want a bolder look. However, the downside is that you must be very careful and work quickly. Acrylic dries at the speed of sound, and once it does, there's no taking it off.
Some parts were highlighted using Golden fluid acrylic diluted with water (such as the face, the dress, and later the background). The brightest highlights (the eyes, crown, jewels, and everything else that would shine/sparkle) were added without diluting the paint.
