Graphite is probably my favorite medium to date.
That said, graphite did not enter my life until
I was an adult. It was painting that I was
introduced to first. As a child, I did lots of
watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, markers
and even oil - anything but graphite. But once
I tried it in my early 20s, I couldn't get enough
of it.

My first graphite drawings consisted of me roughly
scribbling all over my figures with the same grade
pencil without even attempting to blend. It took me
many years to perfect my technique (and, as with
anything else, I still believe there's room for more
improvement). One of the crucial things I learned
about the media was that control is the most important
part when drawing with graphite. That, and a lot of
patience.
